About the Role

Operates and maintains equipment, systems and utilities of the systems. Performs maintenance of central plant equipment. Provides expertise to staff.

Responsibilities

  • Implements utility systems or equipment operating systems to meet the needs of patient care services and facility. Diagnoses, remedies and recommends improvements for issues in existing utility systems and equipment.
  • Ensures minimal disruption to patient care and facility damage during emergencies. May provide fire control and accessing of minimally accessible spaces.
  • Maintains compliance with instructions, manufacturers specifications and standard safety precautions. Records meter and gauge readings and repair work performed.
  • Inspects and chemically treats boiler water and cooling towers and maintains within approved pH range. Operates fire system control devices and panels. Performs minor repair work and maintenance and custodial services.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements

  • Driver's License
  • Stationary Engineer
  • Minimum Required Education: High School diploma or GED. Preferred: HVAC training program, or extensive experience in maintenance trade.
  • Class A Stationary Certificate, or can become Class A certified within 1 year of hire. Valid driver's license.
  • 3 years of experience in an industrial maintenance setting. 6 years of relevant experience.

Compensation

The bonus accumulates annually each October and is paid out in October following completion of three years' employment.
