Ballot Issue 7A, the Front Range Passenger Rail sales tax, is printed on every Douglas County ballot, but the county counts only votes from inside the rail district, and the 2026 state law that set the district's boundaries names Sterling Ranch's metropolitan districts. No Sterling Ranch board race. Plus everything countywide.

• Front Range Passenger Rail District: Ballot Issue 7AIssue 7A is printed on every Douglas County ballot. The county says that is because the boundary map the rail district gave it showed the whole county inside the district, and 2026 legislation changed those boundaries: "Only votes from voters within the updated rail district boundaries will be counted on Issue 7A." Senate Bill 26-172, signed May 26, 2026, puts Sterling Ranch Colorado Metropolitan District Numbers One through Seven inside the district; its list of municipalities does not include Castle Rock, Castle Pines, Larkspur, Lone Tree or Parker. The question asks to raise district taxes $295,000,000 a year through a 0.333% sales and use tax and district debt by $580,000,000, with a repayment cost of $785,000,000.
