About the Role

SDA Transport Layer and Tracking Layer programs provide constellations of low earth orbit satellites and supporting ground systems as components of a sensor backbone for national security space customers.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the Mission Operations & Sustainment (MOS) IPT in all internal and external program reviews, meetings and working groups.
  • Ensure the timely delivery of all contract deliverables according to the program Statement of Work (SOW) and program schedule.
  • Work with the MOS Control Account Manager (CAM) in achieving the MOS program cost and schedule targets.
  • Lead the development of Recommended Operator Procedures (ROPs) that aim to capture what the capability is, the sequence of system actions, associated commands/telemetry, system constraints, and expected vehicle responses. This includes areas such as command/control of on-orbit satellites, contingency scenarios, satellite maneuvers, mission planning by working with program SMEs and IPTs.
  • Lead the development of detailed end to end operator procedures (OP) that detail out the specific operator actions needed to execute the specific mission capability using the ground software.
  • Translate manual steps from ROP/OPs into reusable python and shell scripts that will be executed during mission operations. These scripts reduce operator workload while performing the expected mission functionality.

Requirements

  • Mission Operations, ATLO, SEIT or Ground experience
  • Ability to present Misson Ops Program status to Program Management, Executive and Customer Leadership
  • Ability to take concise direction from the Mission Ops IPT Lead and execute a detailed plan from that direction with minimal oversight
  • Strong Microsoft tool suite skills: Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Word
  • Operations or Test Procedure writing experience
  • Attention to detail/strong organizational skills

Benefits

  • Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
