Staff Propulsion Engineer

About the Role

In this role you will support the engineering team as a Certified Responsible Engineer (CPE) delegate for the Attitude Control system of the Next Generation Interceptor by conducting on-site integration including design,development, manufacturing, test, and integration for flight as well as ground systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist on the conceptual development, requirements definition, and design of propulsion components.
• Perform trade studies to select the appropriate design solution.
• Develop product performance specifications, statements of work, and supplier data requirements for components.
• Participate in development of system and interface requirements.
• Participate in shop floor and production hardware processing on-site at partner facilities.
• Provide input to process planning; support production meetings; and work with supply chain to assure that design requirements are met.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Engineering.
• Experience with major test and integration campaigns.
• Current DoD Secret security clearance and ability to maintain.
• Strong understanding of propulsion/energetic system design, development, manufacture, test, and/or data acquisition and analysis.
• Understanding of and experience with attitude control systems or guidance / control interfaces.
• Ability to troubleshoot and respond to problems.
