Accounting Associate

About the Role

Performs one or more multiple financial activities within various finance job functions (FP&A, Overhead, Program Finance, Accounting, Controller, etc.). Will include some or all of the responsibilities as defined. Performs financial analysis, establishes performance management budgeting, and forecasting activities to include variance analysis, trend identification, workforce planning drivers, risk and opportunities…

Responsibilities

• Prepare long range plan, quarterly and annual tax schedules in support of federal, state and tax credits (R&D).
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX, and internal control policies; document controls and assist with internal audits.
• Coordinate with external auditors, HR, and other internal stakeholders to provide required documentation.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and accuracy of workflows.
• Assist with month end and quarter end close activities, including preparation of journal entries and accruals
• Perform reconciliations of balance sheet accounts (cash, accounts receivable, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, etc.) and ensure discrepancies are investigated and resolved.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master's degree in accounting or tax or anything else.
• 1+ years of experience in general accounting.
• Ability to work with Microsoft Office
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.
• High level of accuracy, attention to details and ability to work with a team
• Effective verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with peers, customers, and managers.
