About DougCo Social
Douglas County's local media platform
Our Mission
DougCo Social exists to connect Douglas County communities through high-quality local content. We believe that knowing what's happening in your neighborhood — from events and new restaurant openings to local business recommendations — makes communities stronger.
What We Do
We publish two weekly newsletters reaching 10,900+ subscribers across Douglas County:
- Castle Rock Crew — Serving Castle Rock with 5,400+ subscribers
- DougCo Drop — Covering all of Douglas County including Castle Rock, Parker, Highlands Ranch, Lone Tree, Castle Pines, and beyond with 5,400+ subscribers
Beyond newsletters, we operate DougCo Social — your one-stop platform for discovering events, local businesses, jobs, and neighborhood guides across Douglas County.
Our Approach
No crime. No politics. No noise. Just the good stuff — events worth attending, restaurants worth trying, and businesses worth supporting. We focus on what brings communities together, not what divides them.
Local to the Core
DougCo Social is a locally owned and operated media company dedicated to serving Douglas County and Colorado's Front Range communities.
Who's Behind DougCo Social
Connor Tien — Founder & Editor
DougCo Social is written and edited by Connor Tien, a Douglas County resident who covers the county firsthand — showing up to the grand openings, the events, and the new spots himself rather than rewriting press releases.
Connor launched the Castle Rock Crew newsletter in January 2025 and the DougCo Drop newsletter in June 2025, and has published every single week since — not a week missed. What started as two newsletters has grown into DougCo Social: a local reporting outlet, an events hub, and a directory built to help neighbors find what's happening and support the businesses around them.
The goal is simple: bring real local reporting to Douglas County, build community through events, and support the local businesses that make Castle Rock, Parker, Highlands Ranch, Lone Tree, and Castle Pines feel like home.
