Surgical Technician

About the Role

This position is crucial for ensuring that surgical interventions are performed smoothly and safely. The Surgical Technician will assist in room setups, monitor patient safety, and handle bio-hazardous materials while supporting the surgical team.

Responsibilities

• Assists with room turnovers and set-ups.
• Promotes patient safety by participating in surgical time outs.
• Assists with patient positioning and identification of specimens.
• Monitors potential hazards for sharp or burn injury.
• Safely handles bio-hazardous materials and uses standard precautions.
• Utilizes preference cards to prepare for surgical procedures.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in surgical technology required.
• 2+ years of Surgical Tech experience preferred.
• American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist preferred.
• State of Colorado Surgical Technologist registration required.
