Health Assistant

About the Role

This role includes providing first aid care for students and maintaining their health records. The Health Assistant promotes good community relations among students, parents, and school staff.

Responsibilities

• Document health related services in the Medicaid documentation system.
• Maintain documentation for health room procedures and medications.
• Ensure students meet Colorado State immunization requirements.
• Notify the school nurse of reportable communicable diseases.
• Administer prescribed medications and prepare medication for field trips.
• Provide first aid according to District guidelines.

Requirements

• First Aid & CPR Certification - Colorado
• High School or Equivalent
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Good documentation skills
• Familiarity with health care plans and procedures
