Surgical Scheduler

About the Role

The Surgical Scheduler is responsible for scheduling patients for surgery and completing facility paperwork. The role obtains the information needed to book cases and handles communication with patients and physician office staff to keep the surgical department running smoothly.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patients for surgery and complete facility paperwork.
• Obtain scheduling, demographic, insurance, and clinical information to schedule, cancel, or reschedule events with minimal call transfers.
• Schedule surgeries with physicians and physician office staff.
• Prepare and send reservations for each case scheduled.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or equivalent
• 3+ years in a healthcare setting
• Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Ability to document accurately and concisely
• 1+ Electronic Health Record (EHR) scheduling experience (Preferred)
