Kitchen Assistant (Positions Available for the 2026-2027 School Year)

About the Role

As a Kitchen Assistant, you will develop and promote good community relations among various community members and school clientele. This role includes tasks like assisting in food preparation and maintaining a clean work environment while following safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the proper setup and cleanup of serving areas for timely service to students.
• Serve meals daily while complying with school food regulations and health department standards.
• Independently follow menu and recipe instructions for meal preparation.
• Learn and operate the Point of Sale system and reconcile daily monies.
• Communicate effectively in both written and verbal form, maintaining confidentiality of all student information.
• Participate in training and may lead training for other kitchen staff.

Requirements

• High School or Equivalent education.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Effective oral and written communication skills in English.
