About the Role

Line cook at Champagne Velvet Proper Kitchen & Bar. Cook menu items to order, prep the line, maintain FIFO stock rotation, and keep the kitchen clean. Refined American menu with house-made pâté, dry-aged steaks, CV-braised proteins, Prince Edward Island mussels, blue crab cakes.

Responsibilities

• Cook all menu items to order per recipe and company standards
• Prepare prep list items; maintain stocked line throughout shift
• Receive and store orders; rotate product (FIFO); break down boxes
• Clean as you work; maintain station, person, and kitchen cleanliness
• Wash and clean dishes, cooking utensils, and equipment
• Maintain equipment health; troubleshoot and communicate needs to management
• Comply with company, local, and state food-safety regulations

Requirements

• Be 18 years of age
• Proven experience as a cook or similar role
• Pass menu and recipe tests with reasonable preparation time
• Hands-on experience with commercial cooking equipment
• Knife skills and knowledge of cutting and cooking methods
• Knowledge of butchering basics, kitchen equipment, receiving practices, recipe adherence
• Able to stand for long periods; lift up to 50 pounds; tolerate fluctuating temperatures

Compensation

• Base pay: $18/hr
