About the Role

Performs complex diagnostic and interventional procedures under the direction of a radiologist.

Responsibilities

  • Performs complex diagnostic and interventional procedures under the direction of a radiologist.
  • Prepares and maintains a sterile field, ensuring proper technique and adherence to infection control standards throughout procedures.
  • Collaborates with radiologists and other healthcare providers to ensure appropriate imaging and continuity of patient care.
  • Ensures quality in imaging, patient care, and workflow.
  • Performs direct patient care duties within the technologist's scope of practice, including monitoring patient condition, transporting patient, and using proper infection control techniques.
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems.
  • Supports inventory and supply management, including checking expirations dates, stocking of supplies, and notifying appropriate personnel of shortages.
  • Operates and maintains equipment safely, properly wears Dosimeter badge, and minimizes radiation exposure.
  • Other duties as assigned. Prepares and administers contrast agents as directed, following safety protocols and monitoring for adverse reactions.
  • Participates in time-out and procedural verification processes, ensuring correct patient identification, procedure, and site.
  • Supports inventory and supply management, including checking expirations dates, stocking of supplies, and notifying appropriate personnel of shortages.
  • Positions patients and equipment appropriately, and operates fluoroscopy and imaging systems to capture high-quality, real-time images for accurate guidance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of fluoroscopic equipment [Required]
  • Ability to learn and master new tasks related to Interventional Radiology [Required]
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work with people of diverse backgrounds [Required]

  • Ability to learn and use Radiology software packages and Current PACS applications [Required]
  • Ability to quickly learn and follow departmental policies and procedures [Required]
  • Maintain responsibility for all Hospital continuing and annual education [Required]
  • Must maintain all required registries and licenses to perform imaging procedures [Required]
  • Ability to follow Basic Radiation Safety concepts of time, distance, and shielding to keep exposure levels ALARA for patients and staff [Required]
  • Organizational skills [Required]
  • Verbal and interpersonal communication skills [Required]
  • Customer relations skills [Required]
  • Proficiency in grammar/spelling [Required]
  • Ability to read/comprehend and follow verbal instructions [Required]
  • Keyboarding and computer skills [Required]
  • High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
  • Associate's [Preferred]
  • Radiology
  • 1+ years experience [Preferred]
  • Registered Technologist – Radiography RT(R)(ARRT) [Required]
  • Basic Life Support – CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]

Compensation

  • Base pay: $32.53 - $60.50/hr
