Sports Official (PT) - Youth Basketball

About the Role

The Sports Official for Youth Basketball plays a crucial role in ensuring fair and enjoyable sporting experiences for young athletes. Under general supervision, the official will officiate various leagues, maintaining standards of play while promoting positive sportsmanship.

Responsibilities

• Officiates assigned sporting events, games, or competitions with fairness and respect.
• Maintains a safe and fun environment during league play; promotes positive sportsmanship.
• Judges performances to award points and enforce penalties.
• Conducts inspections of sporting equipment and field conditions.
• Verifies game scores with the onsite Sports Supervisor.
• Resolves claims of rule infractions or complaints by participants.

Requirements

• Must be at least sixteen (16) years of age.
• Requires prior experience as a player, coach, instructor, or official.
• Concussion recognition training required within ninety (90) days of hire.
