Equipment Operator I

About the Role

This position involves operating and maintaining various types of heavy equipment and County vehicles. Employees will also perform manual labor tasks and respond to emergency situations. A valid CDL Class B is required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Operates equipment including various types of trucks and heavy machinery.
• Performs road maintenance tasks involving manual labor and heavy equipment operation.
• Responds to emergency situations including bad weather and disasters.
• Performs daily inspections on equipment used and ensures proper maintenance.
• Provides good customer service and collaborates with supervisors on service requests.
• Transports heavy machinery to and from job locations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• One year of education or experience in highway maintenance or equipment operation is preferred.
• Must possess a valid Colorado CDL Class B license upon hire.
• Must have a Flagger Certification.
• Must complete assigned training as required.
