Sat Jul 11, 6:30–10 p.m.: Pedal the Moon — the Town's annual twilight bike ride along East Plum Creek Trail. Depart Castle View HS (7 p.m.) or Douglas County HS (~7:15 p.m.) and ride ~6 miles of mostly flat trail to Festival Park, with a glow-in-the-dark bike-decorating station and Boy Scout hot dogs. New for 2026: a free outdoor movie (E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial) at the park. Helmet, front headlamp, and rear blinker required. $14–$18 by age.
Sat Aug 1, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.: Castle Rock Colorado Day Festival at Miller Park. Free. 9 a.m. cornhole tournament at the Millhouse lower lawn. 10:30 a.m. Colorado Day Fun Run — 1-mile kid-friendly OR 5K trail run from the Amphitheater (free, registration required, open until July 10). Live music all day from Off Ramp, LoCo Country, and Chris Daniels & The Kings. The Town's annual Independence Day celebration runs Saturday, July 4 from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Festival Park (300 Second Street). 2026 is a special America 250 – Colorado 150 version of the event — live music, local food trucks, face painting, other family-friendly activities, and the return of the Town's Pie Bake-Off competition. Weather permitting, the evening will conclude with a fireworks display. Free.
