First Fridays at Festival Park — Castle Rock

First Fridays is downtown Castle Rock's signature free-concert-plus-5K event. Three times a summer, Festival Park at 302 Second Street hosts a free 5K run starting at 5:30 p.m. (no registration required) followed by a full concert from 6–9 p.m.

  • June 5: Mallrats — free 5K at 5:30 p.m., concert 6–9 p.m.
  • July 3: That Arena Rock Show — free 5K at 5:30 p.m., concert 6–9 p.m.
  • August 7: Six Million Dollar Band — free 5K at 5:30 p.m., concert 6–9 p.m.
  • Where: Festival Park, 302 Second Street, Castle Rock
  • Cost: Free — concert and 5K. No ticket, no registration.
  • Source: crgov.com + downtowncastlerock.com/2026events

Festival Park sits at the center of downtown Castle Rock. The 5K is informal — show up, run it, then stay for the concert. There is street parking in the surrounding blocks and a town garage on Perry Street.

Tunes for Trails / Perks for Parks — Philip S. Miller Park Amphitheater

Tunes for Trails runs at the Philip S. Miller Park Amphitheater in Castle Rock — a dedicated outdoor stage set into the hillside at PSM Park. Concerts are free to attend; donations to the Castle Rock Parks and Trails Foundation support local trails and open space.

  • June 18: The Rick Lewis Project
  • July 16: That Eighties Band
  • August 20: Santa Rios
  • September 17: Ninety Percent 90s
  • Where: Philip S. Miller Park Amphitheater, Castle Rock
  • Cost: Free — donations welcome and appreciated
  • Donations support: Castle Rock Parks and Trails Foundation

PSM Park is a different venue from Festival Park. The amphitheater is at the north end of the park — bring a blanket or chair. Free parking in the park lots off Wilcox Street.

Part of the broader Summer of Fun: Douglas County 2026 lineup.

Jazz in the Park — Festival Park (Wednesday Evenings)

  • When: Every Wednesday in June, July, and August, 6:30–8 p.m.
  • Where: Festival Park, 302 Second Street, Castle Rock

  • Source: downtowncastlerock.com/2026events

It pairs with the Free Summer Trolley that runs the same Wednesday evenings (6–8 p.m., also free), so you can hop the trolley through downtown and catch the show.

Specific band names for each Wednesday are not published in advance — check downtowncastlerock.com/2026events as the season progresses for each week's performer.

Free Summer Trolley Rides

The Free Summer Trolley runs every Wednesday in June, July, and August, 6–8 p.m. through downtown Castle Rock — the same evenings as Jazz in the Park. Pairs naturally: ride the trolley, catch the jazz, walk for food or a drink downtown.
