I went to Nova Glow Studio's grand opening in Parker on Saturday, October 10, a free, open-to-everyone event from 10am to 1pm at The Juniper on Mainstreet (19865 Mainstreet, Suite 110). There was a balloon arch out front and a studio that's ready to go, even though the full class schedule isn't live yet.
Nova Glow is owned by Dani Saunders. In her words: "After years of pouring into my legal career, and into everyone else, I found myself completely depleted. I needed something that would strengthen my body, calm my nervous system, and leave me feeling replenished." She describes the studio as "built by a woman, with women in mind," and says it welcomes everyone, men included.
Two studios, two different workouts
The space is actually two separate rooms:
- Nova, the main studio, has 10 reformers lined up facing windows that look out at the pines.
- Glow, the heated studio, runs hot Pilates classes at 90 to 95 degrees, with red light panels built into the walls.
Classes run 50 minutes each, reformer or mat, across four class types. Every instructor trains a minimum of 500 hours before teaching.
Self-serve red light and a sauna
When there isn't a class running in the Glow studio, Nova Glow offers self-serve red light therapy in 20-minute sessions in the room. The studio provides optional glasses, and the light strength is adjustable. There's also a sauna, booked in 40-minute sessions. Pricing for both is still to come.
The shop
Up front, Nova Glow sells its own branded merch, including socks for around $25.
Soft opening starts Monday, October 12
The grand opening was the preview. The real start is the soft opening on Monday, October 12, which runs on a limited schedule for about two weeks while the studio gets going. The plan for the full schedule is built around two blocks, roughly 6am to noon and 4 to 8pm, with Friday, Saturday and Sunday on the morning block only. Nova Glow says it will add classes as it grows.
Memberships are all month to month. Pricing hasn't been published yet, so check novaglowstudios.com or contact the studio directly before you sign up.
