Lone Tree's South Havana Street Bikeway is in its final stages of construction, with the City anticipating completion this winter. The project runs along South Havana Street from Rail Way to Surrey Drive.
What's being built
The project adds dedicated bicycle facilities, pedestrian improvements, and a new fully signalized intersection, along with ADA-compliant ramps and other pedestrian enhancements. Per the City, it fills "an essential missing link" connecting RidgeGate Parkway to the Happy Canyon Creek Regional Trail and nearby RTD facilities.
Who's involved
The City of Lone Tree is the project owner and administers the construction contract. Funding comes from the Colorado Department of Transportation and the Rampart Range Metropolitan District, which also provides project oversight through its resident project representative.
The City also credits a list of partners on the project: Douglas County, the Mile High Flood District, South Suburban Parks and Recreation, Tall Tales Ranch, and the Schweiger Ranch Foundation.
The bikeway isn't the only thing moving nearby. The adjacent High Note Park Phase One broke ground in April 2026.
