King Soopers Marketplace Is Coming to RidgeGate

By Connor Tien, DougCo Social

Lone Tree is finally getting a King Soopers. A new Marketplace location will anchor a shopping center called Lone Tree Village in the RidgeGate area, with a projected 2027 opening.

The Details

The King Soopers Marketplace will be part of a 158,000 square foot development by Regency Centers. Along with the grocery store, the shopping center will include:

  • Six retail buildings
  • Restaurants
  • A gas station

Location: RidgeGate Parkway near High Note Ave, between the eastbound and westbound lanes — the address is 12600 RidgeGate Parkway, east of I-25
Developer: Regency Centers
Opening: Projected 2027

King Soopers held its groundbreaking ceremony at the site on April 8, 2026. The company is putting $42 million into the project and expects it to create about 250 new jobs. The Marketplace-format store will run more than 123,000 square feet and include a Starbucks, a Murray's Cheese counter, a sushi counter, and a clothing department, on top of the full grocery store and fuel center. Construction is now underway.

Why It Matters

Residents on the east side of Lone Tree have been waiting for a full-service grocery option closer to home. The nearest King Soopers locations are in Highlands Ranch or Parker, which means a longer drive for routine shopping.

Lone Tree Village will also bring additional retail and dining to an area that's been growing rapidly with new housing but limited commercial development. It's one of several major projects reshaping RidgeGate's Lyric neighborhood right now, alongside High Note Regional Park, a new DCSD elementary school, and The Groove café, which is already open.
