Consumer Access Specialist

About the Role

The Consumer Access Specialist plays a vital role in enhancing the patient experience by managing financial responsibilities and ensuring compliance with Medicare guidelines. This position involves coordination with various departments to provide excellent customer service and accurate information to patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform Medicare compliance reviews and issue Advance Beneficiary Notices of Noncoverage as needed.
• Create accurate estimates for patient financial responsibility and collect payments.
• Coordinate with utilization management staff for pre-authorization issues.
• Contact insurance companies to verify eligibility and benefits.
• Register patients for all services with accuracy.
• Manage communication between clinical and consumer access departments.

Requirements

• Associate degree preferred; High School Grad or Equivalent required.
• 1+ years customer service experience preferred.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
• Knowledge of HIPAA privacy rules.
• Experience with database programs and Microsoft Office.
