About the Role
The Mechanic position involves various duties related to the maintenance and repair of County vehicles and equipment. Responsibilities include performing diagnostic tests, repairs, and preventive maintenance activities on a wide range of automotive and heavy construction equipment.
Responsibilities
- Repairs automotive and heavy construction equipment including engines and electrical systems.
- Inspects defective equipment and performs diagnostic tests using specialized equipment.
- Dismantles and repairs internal combustion engines and transmissions.
- Changes lubricants and filters, performing preventive maintenance as necessary.
- Responds to service calls in the field, providing after-hours support when required.
- Performs safety inspections on all County equipment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Three years of automotive/diesel mechanical experience, five years preferred.
- Valid Colorado Driver License required; ability to obtain a Class (A) Commercial Driver License after hire.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check.
