Kitchen Assistant

About the Role

As a Kitchen Assistant, you will help ensure that meals are prepared and served according to health and safety standards. You will also play an essential role in promoting good community relations among school clientele.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals daily while complying with all school food regulations and ensuring health department sanitation standards.
• Assist in the proper set up and cleanup of serving areas for timely service to students, including dishwashing and sanitation of work stations.
• Assist in the preparation, service, and sale of meals ensuring compliance with department regulations.
• Willing to travel to multiple schools based on the needs of sites, if requested.
• Participate in training to include PGI Classes and may lead training for other kitchen staff members.
• Communicate effectively in both written and verbal form.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively.
• Must maintain a positive attitude and work well with a variety of people.
