Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery has closed in Highlands Ranch.
The brewpub at 1505 Park Central Drive shut down during the week of August 15, 2026, along with the chain's Centennial location. Yelp now lists the Highlands Ranch address as closed.
That leaves Loveland as the only Rock Bottom left in Colorado — in the state where the brand started.
How it got here
Rock Bottom was founded in 1991 by Boulder restaurateur Frank Day, and for most of its life it was a Colorado brand. The original brewpub on Denver's 16th Street Mall closed earlier this year, roughly 35 years after opening. Colorado Springs closed too.
The Highlands Ranch and Centennial closures finish the retreat from the south metro.
Ownership changed hands recently. California-based Kelly Cos. bought the brand in December 2024 from Houston-based SPB Hospitality, in a deal that also included Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant, Chophouse & Brewery, Ragtime Tavern and Seven Bridges Grille & Brewery. The Gordon Biersch in Broomfield closed around the time of that sale.
The landlord is suing
The company has not published an explanation for the Highlands Ranch closure. What is on the record is litigation.
The property owner, Central Park at Highlands Ranch Retail, has filed suit in Douglas County District Court, alleging Rock Bottom breached its lease by vacating the space without formally terminating it. The landlord claims roughly $190,000 in damages, with the possibility of additional claims.
What this means for the Central Park center
The closure leaves a large restaurant space empty in one of Highlands Ranch's busier retail centers, off Park Central Drive near Highlands Ranch Parkway. A brewpub footprint of that size — full kitchen, brewing equipment, patio — does not re-tenant quickly, and what fills it is worth watching.
