Specialized Aquatics Instructor- Therapeutic Recreation (PT)

About the Role

Under general supervision, this position provides safe and efficient pool and land-based instructional lessons, programs and trainings to both clients and staff through the Town of Parker's Aquatics Division. It evaluates participants, provides feedback, and upholds facility safety guidelines. This is a safety-sensitive position subject to pre-employment and random drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one or small group instruction, coaching and evaluation through Aquatics Division programs
• Uphold and enforce facility safety guidelines and all applicable policies and procedures
• Ensure the course or lesson area is safe, set up and clean before and after each session
• Evaluate participants and provide immediate positive and corrective feedback
• Report incidents or accidents to the supervisor immediately and provide first aid care
• Complete necessary reports and maintain program records

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age
• Minimum of one year of experience teaching swimming lessons
• CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
• Ability to swim at or above the teaching level
