About the Role
Under general supervision, this position provides safe and efficient pool and land-based instructional lessons, programs and trainings to both clients and staff through the Town of Parker's Aquatics Division. It evaluates participants, provides feedback, and upholds facility safety guidelines. This is a safety-sensitive position subject to pre-employment and random drug testing.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one or small group instruction, coaching and evaluation through Aquatics Division programs
- Uphold and enforce facility safety guidelines and all applicable policies and procedures
- Ensure the course or lesson area is safe, set up and clean before and after each session
- Evaluate participants and provide immediate positive and corrective feedback
- Report incidents or accidents to the supervisor immediately and provide first aid care
- Complete necessary reports and maintain program records
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Minimum of one year of experience teaching swimming lessons
- CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
- Ability to swim at or above the teaching level
