Police Officer 1 (POST)

About the Role

Under limited supervision, this position carries out the laws of the Town of Parker, the State of Colorado, and the United States, working in partnership with the community to identify and resolve issues of concern. The Parker Police Department uses a community policing philosophy and provides continuous training and support. This is a continuous posting for POST-certified applicants and remains open until vacancies are filled.

Responsibilities

• Provide public safety services to the community and maintain peace, safety and order
• Carry out the laws of the Town, State of Colorado and the United States
• Work in partnership with the community to identify and resolve issues of concern
• Exercise considerable judgment, initiative and skill in a variety of situations
• Participate in community support activities such as National Night Out and Coffee with a Cop
• Complete work without direct supervision

Requirements

• Must be POST certified (apply for Police Officer Trainee if not yet certified)
• Ability to pass a background review and meet sworn-position standards
• Must review the Sworn/Trainee Position Applicant Disqualifiers list prior to applying
• Ability to perform safety-sensitive duties subject to drug testing
