Communications Specialist

About the Role

This position reports to the Communications Director and focuses on creating engaging content that informs residents and stakeholders about City programs and initiatives. The role also handles digital communications and supports public information efforts while collaborating closely with various City departments.

Responsibilities

• Develop, write, and edit content for internal and external communications.
• Maintain the City’s website to ensure accurate and user-friendly information.
• Plan and execute marketing efforts for City events and programs.
• Coordinate social media platforms and engage with the community.
• Support crisis communications in coordination with public safety.
• Track and report communication metrics to evaluate effectiveness.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, or a related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in government communications or public information.
• Excellent writing and editing skills.
• Proficiency with social media and digital communication tools.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
