Police Officer

About the Role

Under general supervision of a Police Sergeant, the position is responsible for protecting the lives, safety, health, welfare, and property of the Town's citizens. Employees perform technical and professional level work, enforcing laws and working with the community.

Responsibilities

• Patrols assigned areas to deter and detect illegal activities.
• Responds to dispatch calls and investigates citizen complaints.
• Makes arrests and takes suspects into custody.
• Performs preliminary investigations at crime scenes.
• Conducts traffic enforcement and investigates traffic accidents.
• Interacts with citizens to identify and resolve issues.

Requirements

• Current Colorado state P.O.S.T. certification.
• High School Diploma or GED; College coursework or degree preferred.
• Valid Colorado driver’s license.
• Must satisfactorily complete a criminal background check, physical exam, polygraph and psychological exam prior to commencing employment.
