Sr. Deputy District Attorney - Appeals

Responsibilities

• Represent Colorado in the Colorado Supreme Court in certiorari matters and original proceedings.
• Prosecute appeals in the Colorado Court of Appeals involving pretrial and trial issues.
• Advise on CCJRA and CORA matters including compliance and policy development.
• Oversee civil forfeiture cases ensuring compliance and ethical enforcement.
• Conduct extensive legal research and draft appellate briefs and motions.
• Provide legal guidance to trial deputies on strategic matters.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of appellate or related litigation experience.
• Extensive knowledge of criminal law and appellate procedures.
• Exceptional advocacy skills in written and oral forms.
• Strong critical-thinking and legal analysis abilities.
