Public Safety Technical Coordinator

About the Role

This position serves as the technical lead throughout the lifecycle of public safety projects, from research through implementation and ongoing support. It analyzes technical requirements, troubleshoots technology problems, participates in vendor contract negotiations, and provides user support for public safety computer equipment and applications. The posting remains open continuously until filled.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical lead throughout the lifecycle of public safety projects
• Analyze technical requirements and troubleshoot technology problems during implementation
• Participate in vendor contract negotiations, project execution and transition to maintenance agreements
• Provide user support for all public safety computer equipment and applications
• Manage public safety helpdesk tickets through proper organization and prioritization
• Maintain standards through documentation and cross-training of other DoIT employees

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a closely related field
• Two to three years of experience involving computer networking and hardware/software support
• Valid Colorado driver's license
• Knowledge of computer hardware and software, telephony, routers, servers and data structure
• Ability to convey technical information to customers in a non-technical manner
