Parts And Supply Specialist - Public Works

About the Role

This position provides customer service to Fleet Technicians and other Town departments by maintaining inventory and fulfilling orders for preventive maintenance and repair parts for Town vehicles. Working under the Fleet Support Technician, it handles ordering, receiving and tracking parts, supplies and fluids, and procures hard-to-find parts cost-effectively. The posting remains open continuously until filled.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to Fleet Technicians and other Town departments on parts orders and requests
• Order, receive and track parts, supplies and fluids inventory for the maintenance shop
• Research suppliers, compare costs, and obtain special or hard-to-find parts
• Conduct periodic shelf-stock inventory and rotate parts and supplies based on department needs
• Maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors
• Help schedule and transport Town vehicles for outsourced repairs

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED supplemented by one year of vocational training
• One year of related experience in fleet automotive parts inventory or equivalent
• Valid Driver's License
• CDL preferred
• ASE Parts Specialist (P2) Certification preferred
