About the Role

The Kitchen Assistant will contribute to the school's lunch program by preparing meals and ensuring compliance with health regulations. This role also includes engaging with the community and assisting in training other staff members.

Responsibilities

• Operate Point of Sale system with accuracy and reconcile monies daily
• Serve meals daily while complying with school food regulations
• Actively pursues regulatory changes and provides sustainable solutions
• Assist in the preparation, service and sale of meals
• Help set up and clean serving areas for timely service to students
• Participate in training and may lead sessions for other kitchen staff members

Requirements

• High School or Equivalent education
• Ability to lift 40 pounds frequently
• Experience in kitchen operations is a plus
• Strong communication skills
• Knowledge of health department sanitation standards
