Custodian - Elementary Building Engineer

About the Role

The Custodian - Elementary Building Engineer is crucial for ensuring a safe and clean environment in schools. This role involves a variety of responsibilities, including maintenance, inspections, and promoting good community relations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the overall cleanliness, maintenance, and sanitation of the facility, grounds, and equipment while maintaining a high standard of safety and efficiency.
• Support the scheduling of work activities of custodial personnel and contact services as assigned, coordinating with Group Leader and Building Administrator.
• Utilize positive techniques to supervise and evaluate assigned personnel.
• Exhibit a working knowledge of facility operations including electrical, gas/water controls, and HVAC systems.
• Ensure all inspections on building, ground, and equipment are done weekly or as assigned.
• Promote the learning environment by performing maintenance, cleaning, and setup requests generated by Building Staff.

Requirements

• High School or Equivalent education required.
• Ability to frequently lift 5 to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
• Must possess a working knowledge of cleaning and restorative materials.
• Experience in facility operations and maintenance is preferred.
• Willingness to support District sustainability policies.
