About the Role
The Educational Assistant IV - Severe Needs plays a critical role in assisting special education teachers and addressing the medical and daily needs of students with severe needs. This position requires collaboration with special education teams and includes a variety of responsibilities from enabling daily functions to supporting individual education plans.
Responsibilities
- Assist students with daily functions such as food preparation and toileting.
- Collaborate with special needs teams and specialists.
- Administer and document prescription medication to students.
- Support classroom instruction under the guidance of certified teachers.
- Communicate with parents and school personnel as needed.
- Document health-related services in designated systems.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in an educational environment preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Demonstrated ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Basic computer skills with word processing and databases.
