Educational Assistant (EAIV)- Significant Support Needs(SSN) Program

About the Role

As an Educational Assistant, you will work under the direction of a licensed special education teacher to provide intensive support to students with significant cognitive or physical disabilities. This role involves assisting with personal care, promoting student safety, and implementing individualized education programs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with student positioning and transferring using specialized equipment.
• Monitor and provide delegated health care procedures, including first aid.
• Maintain a safe and clean learning environment.
• Support the implementation of Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.
• Aid students in daily living skills such as dressing and feeding.
• Implement behavior management strategies in collaboration with teachers.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with children with significant needs is preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong commitment to student dignity and safety.
• Willingness to assist with lifting and transferring students.
