4th of July in Douglas County 2026

Castle Rock (Festival Park, ~9:30 PM, launched from the Acme Brick facility at 401 Prairie Hawk Drive), Parker (remote-viewing only, ~9:30 PM, launched from Salisbury North), and Lone Tree (Prairie Sky Park, 9:30 PM). Highlands Ranch canceled fireworks for 2026 due to Stage 1 Fire Restrictions — replaced with the Star-Spangled Birthday Bash concert on July 2 at Highland Heritage Regional Park.

No. HRCA, the Highlands Ranch Metro District, and Douglas County canceled the traditional Civic Green fireworks due to Stage 1 Fire Restrictions, extreme drought, and elevated fire danger across the region. The replacement is the Star-Spangled Birthday Bash on Thursday, July 2 — a free concert at Highland Heritage Regional Park (Ragged Union 6–7 PM, Jeff Goodwin and the Front Range Cowboys 7:30–9 PM). The Independence Day 5K (Jul 4, 7:30 AM) and 4th of July Parade (Jul 4, 9 AM) still run on the 4th.

Parker is fireworks-only remote viewing for 2026 — there is no in-person Stars and Stripes Celebration this year. The fireworks display launches from just north of Salisbury Park around 9:30 PM (weather permitting) and is visible from up to two miles away depending on conditions. Town-recommended viewing/parking: Salisbury Park (up to 300 free, first-come, first-served parking spaces), Bar CCC Park, McCabe Meadows, Stroh Soccer Field, Tallman Meadow Park, Auburn Hills Community Park, and the Cherry Creek Trail between Bar CCC Park and Stroh Soccer Field. NO parking along Parker Road, Hess Road, or Mainstreet. Rain or fire-risk cancellation pushes the show to Veterans Day, Nov 11.

Festival Park at 302 Second St. in downtown Castle Rock, Saturday July 4 from 5:30 to 9:30 PM. Fireworks launch from the former Acme Brick facility at 401 Prairie Hawk Drive (about 15 minutes long, starting at sundown — ~9:30 PM). 2026 is the America 250 + Colorado 150 edition, with live music, food trucks, face painting, and the Pie Bake-Off Contest. The town's lit the Star atop the rock for the season too.

Lone Tree fireworks launch from the Prairie Sky Park area at 9:30 PM on Saturday, July 4. Visible from Prairie Sky and several other viewing spots in town. NO personal fireworks are allowed anywhere within Lone Tree city limits. NO dogs at Prairie Sky during the event. Free Link On Demand shuttles run from The Hub and the Lone Tree Arts Center from 6 to 10:45 PM.

Castle Pines doesn't host its own 4th of July event — the city has been explicit about that. Elevated neighborhoods on Castle Pines hillsides have sightlines south to the Castle Rock fireworks launch site (former Acme Brick facility on Prairie Hawk Drive). Show goes off around 9:30 PM. Lots of Castle Pines residents also drive into Castle Rock for the Festival Park celebration, or run the Rock-It Run at the fairgrounds in the morning.

2026 is America's 250th anniversary (signing of the Declaration of Independence) and Colorado's 150th (statehood, August 1, 1876). Castle Rock's 4th is part of their official America 250 / Colorado 150 programming. HRCA is throwing a full Colorado 150 Celebration on Aug 1 at HR Town Center, plus a Stories in the Sky drone show at the Summer Sunset Concert on Aug 22 at Civic Green. Sterling Ranch is doing a USA 250 / CO 150 aerial drone photo at Providence Park on the 4th. Parker is folding it into their 250/150/45 framing (250 + 150 + Parker turning 45).

Two big ones on Saturday, July 4: the Rock-It Run 5K, Half Marathon + free kids 1K at Douglas County Event Center in Castle Rock (~7 AM, 6th annual, benefits Run to Change Lives) and the HRCA Independence Day 5K at Highlands Ranch Town Center (7:30 AM).

All four DougCo fireworks displays — Castle Rock, Parker, Lone Tree, and the surrounding-city Glendale show — are free public events. Castle Pines has no city fireworks but neighbors watch the Castle Rock display from elevated streets. Highlands Ranch has no fireworks for 2026; the Star-Spangled Birthday Bash on July 2 is free.
