About the Role
This onsite, PRN role performs mammography procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. The technologist reviews orders, educates patients, performs imaging and ensures compliance with MQSA regulations.
Responsibilities
- Reviews patient history and physician orders, handles scheduling and educates patients
- Prepares and administers contrast media or medications within scope when ordered
- May assist physicians with interventional procedures including fine needle aspiration and needle localization
- Prepares equipment, selects exposure factors and ensures MQSA compliance
- Positions patients, performs imaging and resolves image quality issues
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program
- Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT) and certified in Mammography (M) by the ARRT, or ARRT-R plus provisional mammographer registration and ARRT-M within 12 months
- State licensure if required by law
- BLS with card in-hand before start date
