Medical Assistant Senior South Campus

About the Role

In this role, the Medical Assistant will support multiple specialty clinics and play an important part in delivering excellent patient care. Responsibilities include rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, documenting patient information, and helping manage clinic flow.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for the health care visit by directing and/or accompanying them to the examining room; providing examination gowns and drapes; arranging examining room instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Performs and supports patient reception including performing check-in and check-out, registration, scheduling and coordinating patient follow-up visits.
• Creates moderately complex patient correspondence and participates in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) medication management.
• Independently initiates referrals and insurance pre-authorizations.
• Completes daily, weekly and monthly monitoring of reports and compliance.
• Serves as the preceptor for new staff including orientation, education, and skill validation.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant Program.
• One (1) year of experience in healthcare.
