Sr. Deputy District Attorney - Special Assistant United States Attorney

About the Role

As a SAUSA, the Senior Deputy District Attorney will work directly with and under the supervision of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Colorado to prosecute federal crimes. The candidate must be comfortable with using good analytical skills to make independent decisions and be devoted to justice, excellence, and fairness.

Responsibilities

• Independently prepare and litigate cases in United States District Court
• Provide agencies (e.g., DEA, FBI, and ATF) with legal advice
• Perform quality legal research
• Draft memoranda, motions, briefs, and pleadings
• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

• Preferred five years of experience as a prosecutor
• Experience prosecuting federal crimes
• Jury-trial experience in federal, municipal, or state court
• Strong commitment to public service
• Strong written and oral advocacy skills
• Possession of a license to practice law in Colorado.
