Sterile Processing Liaison

About the Role

The Sterile Processing Liaison role is essential for ensuring the availability of surgical instruments and equipment for scheduled operations. This individual will monitor the operational flow, communicating closely with the Operating Room team to address any instrument supply issues.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates obtaining additional/missing items to avoid case delays.
• Checks equipment/scopes/instrumentation for proper functioning before use.
• Collaborates with leadership to ensure instruments are available for scheduled cases, add-ons, and emergencies.
• Delivers additional instrumentation needed during procedures to the Operating Room staff.
• Communicates daily with Operating Room leadership about instrument supply and specific needs.
• Resolves issues or offers alternatives when necessary.

Requirements

• High School Grad or Equivalent.
• 2+ years sterile equipment processing experience.
• Certified Registered Central Service Tech (CRCST) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) required.
• Basic Life Support – CPR Cert (BLS) preferred.
• Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS) preferred.
