About the Role
This role ensures that various construction and development projects comply with the Douglas County Zoning Resolution and other regulations. It involves field evaluations, approvals of occupancy certificates, and ensuring safety measures during construction phases.
Responsibilities
- Ensures compliance with zoning regulations and building codes through review of permit applications and documentation.
- Performs field evaluations on development projects and addresses inconsistencies.
- Provides final approval of Certificates of Occupancy for commercial and multi-family structures.
- Develops site-specific safety plans to mitigate risks during construction phases.
- Processes sign permit applications and inspects installed signs for compliance.
- Reviews administrative variance requests and writes staff assessments.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in a related field.
- Minimum of one year of experience in planning, zoning, or related fields.
- Valid Colorado Driver’s License is required within 30 days of hire.
