Responsibilities

Performing field visits and observations
Collecting traffic volume and speed data
Assisting with data entry and database maintenance
Supporting basic traffic and transportation studies
Assisting with traffic control and work zone reviews
Supporting traffic signal and special event operations
Responding to neighborhood traffic concerns
Assisting sign and pavement marking crews as needed
Supporting transportation and public works staff on seasonal projects
Performing related duties as assigned

Requirements

Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Current enrollment or completion of coursework in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Public Works, Transportation, Planning, GIS, Environmental Science, or a closely related field is preferred.
Experience: Previous experience in field work, maintenance, construction, public works, utilities, landscaping, data collection, or related work environments is preferred; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
A valid Driver's License
Familiarity with Microsoft Office products
Basic problem-solving and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Ability to safely work outdoors and near traffic

Compensation

Hourly Range: $19.02 to $25.67
