Responsibilities
- Performing field visits and observations
- Collecting traffic volume and speed data
- Assisting with data entry and database maintenance
- Supporting basic traffic and transportation studies
- Assisting with traffic control and work zone reviews
- Supporting traffic signal and special event operations
- Responding to neighborhood traffic concerns
- Assisting sign and pavement marking crews as needed
- Supporting transportation and public works staff on seasonal projects
- Performing related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Current enrollment or completion of coursework in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Public Works, Transportation, Planning, GIS, Environmental Science, or a closely related field is preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in field work, maintenance, construction, public works, utilities, landscaping, data collection, or related work environments is preferred; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- A valid Driver's License
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office products
- Basic problem-solving and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to safely work outdoors and near traffic
Compensation
- Hourly Range: $19.02 to $25.67
