About the Role

The Environmental Inspector I/II position is crucial for ensuring compliance with the Douglas County regulations on Grading, Erosion, and Sediment Control. The successful candidate will also handle additional responsibilities under the County’s Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permit requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts site inspections on moderately complex construction projects.
  • Provides quality assurance for storm drainage and erosion/sediment control criteria.
  • Collaborate with permittees to prevent pollution events.
  • Ensures public safety and convenience around construction sites.
  • Attends preconstruction and erosion control kickoff meetings.
  • Maintains accurate inspection records and daily field reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field.
  • One year of related experience for Inspector I and two years for Inspector II.
  • Erosion control and OSHA certifications are highly desirable.
