About the Role

This role involves a variety of responsibilities centered around legal proceedings, including managing prosecutions and handling inquiries related to the criminal justice system. The Deputy District Attorney works closely with law enforcement and victims to ensure justice is served.

Responsibilities

• Receives and reviews felony criminal cases from local police agencies.
• Analyzes case documentation for provability and evidence.
• Directs the preparation of documents for court filings.
• Meets with victims and defense attorneys for plea negotiations.
• Conducts direct examinations of witnesses in court.
• Researches legal issues related to cases.

Requirements

• Graduation from law school as provided under Rule 205.1 of the Colorado Rules of Civil Procedure.
• Licensed to practice law in the State of Colorado.
• Must possess a valid Colorado Driver’s License upon hire.
