About the Role
The Assistant County Attorney / Senior County Attorney for Human Services will be responsible for representing the County in legal matters concerning various departments, including Dependency and Neglect cases. The position also involves conducting legal research, preparing legal documents, and advising elected officials on legal questions.
Responsibilities
- Represents the County in legal matters concerning the Board of County Commissioners and County departments.
- Provides legal advice and representation to the County Human Services Department in Dependency and Neglect cases.
- Conducts legal research and prepares legal briefs for court proceedings.
- Negotiates contracts and oversees the compliance of legal documents.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited law school with an LL.B./J.D. degree.
- Minimum of one year as a practicing attorney (for Assistant County Attorney) or at least seven years of legal practice (for Senior Assistant County Attorney).
- Must be admitted by the Colorado Supreme Court to practice law in Colorado.
- Valid Colorado Driver’s License and successful completion of a criminal background check.
