About the Role

The Apprentice Mechanic will engage in a variety of maintenance and repair tasks on automotive and heavy construction equipment. This includes preventive maintenance functions as well as performing diagnostic tests and making necessary repairs.

Responsibilities

  • Change lubricants, filters and performs other preventive maintenance functions.
  • Perform general repairs on automotive and construction equipment including engines and electrical systems.
  • Conduct diagnostic road tests and perform repairs in the field.
  • Inspect defective and malfunctioning equipment using diagnostic software.
  • Make repairs to snow and ice equipment.
  • Be on-call during snow season to support the operations of the snow removal fleet.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • One year of automotive/diesel mechanical experience preferred.
  • Must possess a valid Colorado Driver License upon hire.
  • The ability to possess a State of Colorado Class (A) Commercial Driver License with tanker endorsement after hire.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check including fingerprinting.
