About the Role
The Apprentice Mechanic will engage in a variety of maintenance and repair tasks on automotive and heavy construction equipment. This includes preventive maintenance functions as well as performing diagnostic tests and making necessary repairs.
Responsibilities
- Change lubricants, filters and performs other preventive maintenance functions.
- Perform general repairs on automotive and construction equipment including engines and electrical systems.
- Conduct diagnostic road tests and perform repairs in the field.
- Inspect defective and malfunctioning equipment using diagnostic software.
- Make repairs to snow and ice equipment.
- Be on-call during snow season to support the operations of the snow removal fleet.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- One year of automotive/diesel mechanical experience preferred.
- Must possess a valid Colorado Driver License upon hire.
- The ability to possess a State of Colorado Class (A) Commercial Driver License with tanker endorsement after hire.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check including fingerprinting.
