About the Role
The Apprentice Equipment Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining County vehicles and heavy equipment. This role offers hands-on training in biochar production processes and the operation of pyrolysis equipment.
Responsibilities
- Operates heavy equipment including pickups, rollers, and backhoes.
- Performs road maintenance tasks such as pothole repair and concrete repair.
- Responds to emergency situations.
- Conducts daily inspections on equipment and vehicles.
- Provides customer service and collaborates with supervisors.
- Assists in the operation of biochar production units.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- One year of education or experience in highway maintenance preferred.
- Valid State of Colorado Driver License required upon hire.
- Must obtain a Commercial Driver License Class B within 12 months.
- Must meet Department of Transportation physical exam requirements.
