Crystal Valley is getting an emergency room, and the detail worth knowing is that it is also an urgent care, in the same building, at the same address.
That sounds like a small thing. It isn't. The decision of whether something is an emergency or just needs looking at is the one you make badly at 9pm with a kid on your hip, and the usual answer is to guess, drive somewhere, and find out you picked wrong. AdventHealth is putting both on the first floor of the same building.
What is being built
The facility is AdventHealth ER and Urgent Care Crystal Valley, a 23,622-square-foot building at the corner of Crystal Valley Parkway and Plum Creek Boulevard. It is an extension of AdventHealth Castle Rock, not a second hospital.
Construction started the week of September 29, 2025, and AdventHealth said at the groundbreaking that completion is expected in fall 2026. The company has not published an opening date.
The layout splits by floor:
- First floor: emergency department and walk-in urgent care, together
- Second floor: primary care offices, plus shelled space left unfinished for future services
AdventHealth said the building will bring more than 30 new jobs.
What we know about how it will run
US Acute Care Solutions, the physician group staffing the emergency department, has published operational detail that AdventHealth's own announcement did not:
- Open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
- Physician coverage in 12-hour shifts, twice a day
- Advanced imaging and laboratory services onsite
- Running on Epic, the same medical record system used across AdventHealth
- A projected emergency department volume of about 6,000 visits
That last number is the useful one for setting expectations. Six thousand visits a year is roughly sixteen a day. This is a neighborhood facility, not a regional trauma center.
Why here
Crystal Valley sits at the south end of Castle Rock, and it has been one of the faster-growing parts of town. The Crystal Valley Interchange at Interstate 25 opened to traffic in 2025, and residential construction has continued on both sides of it.

What we do not know yet
An opening date. AdventHealth has said fall 2026 since the groundbreaking and has not narrowed it since. We also do not know published hours for the urgent care side, whether the primary care offices open at the same time as the ER, or which insurance networks the facility will take.
