Endoscopy Tech

About the Role

As an Endoscopy Tech, you will assist in the care of patients undergoing GI/Endoscopy procedures under the direction of a nurse. You will maintain a sanitary environment and ensure the proper preparation of the endoscopy unit.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a sanitary environment for patients
• Demonstrate knowledge of high disinfection and sterilization of endoscopy equipment
• Prepare the endoscopy unit adequately and ensure availability of necessary GI equipment and supplies
• Clean GI treatment rooms between procedures and prepare rooms for the next case
• Assist in the maintenance, care, and labeling of specimens
• Identify specimens with the surgeon and pass to the circulating RN

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program preferred
• One year GI Tech, PCT, MA or EMT experience, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center
• Valid BCLS Certification upon employment (online certification not acceptable)
