Childbirth Educator

About the Role

This position involves working with a team of educators to teach childbirth education and other relevant curricula. The role requires assessing the learning styles and needs of populations served and developing appropriate curricula.

Responsibilities

• Works with a team of educators to teach childbirth education and other relevant curricula.
• Assesses varying learning styles, needs, and theories of populations served and develops population-appropriate curricula.
• Collaborates with Birth Center staff and providers to enhance the delivery of services.
• Serves as a resource to staff and to class participants to further their learning through referrals to community resources.
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements

• Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator
• Certified Childbirth Educator
• High school diploma or GED
• Successful completion of Childbirth Education training
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification
• BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
