Larkspur is a small rural community on the south end of Douglas County, best known for the Colorado Renaissance Festival held each summer. The festival draws tens of thousands of visitors over eight weekends in June and July to a themed medieval village, with jousting, live entertainment, craft vendors, and costumed characters. Outside of the Renaissance Festival season, Larkspur's events calendar is thin — but the festival alone makes it one of the most-visited spots in Douglas County during summer.
